Is that Cornelius Vanderbilt's mansion in bottom center?
-
Yup. Built in 1883, torn down in 1926 for the Bergdorf building. AFAIK, still the largest private home ever built in NYC.
-
I read it was 90,000sqft. So, 189.5x the size of my first manhattan apartment (which I shared when a roommate)

Trump once (about 25 yrs ago) owned the Plaza & let then-wife Ivana run it. I was once sitting around the corner in a McDonald's on W 57th St. next to a couple of Plaza employees who were complaining to each other about Ivana and her "spies."

That is really cool. My Great Great Uncle used to colorize photographs for a living in the late 1800’s - early 1900’s. He had a studio in Bath, Maine. I have a few of his works.

From a vantage point that would be right about where trump tower is.
-
You're a block off, Trump Tower is at 56/5th on the site of the Bonwit Teller Department Store; demolished by Trump who broke a promise to donate the art deco façade art to the
