        Arch Duke Ferdinand, "The shot that was heard around the world", to paraphrase it. My maternal ancestors saw the writing on the wall and therefore became IMMAGRANTS to the USA. Thank God that they were welcomed back then, as honest, hard working people. Thanks for your info!

        Thank you for posting historical documents and pictures. This sent my grandfather to the trenches of France. As a young child I heard the horror of that time come alive during his sleep. The only one who loves a war is one who has never served in one.

        This is the way I always believed War should be declared. Congress pledging full support to victory, and AUTHORIZING the President to act.
