Isn't that why she married Onassis, because she feared her kids had targets on their backs?

As a child, this was a scary time, living through assassinations of our political leaders and much rioting in the streets. These two ladies were each a rock for the rest of the country.

Yes, this was a scary time and it sort of feels scary again. I'm 57 and if it weren't for twitter, FB, Trump etc. I'd swear it was 1968 all over again. Scary!

I thought the same after Trump came to office. I got a couple of years on you. Heck of a way to spend our golden years.

Heartbreaking, and 2 months later, Ethel Kennedy would make this a trio of women who lost their young husbands in the prime of life. All dedicated to public service & murdered with guns. We’re not evolving. #GunReformNow

This happened the spring of my senior year (MLK and RFK). My life would not be the same. I have often wondered how different our nation would be had they not been assassinated.

I too wonder. We lost our way as a country in 1968. How different the world would be now if they all lived to see an older age.

Please consider the words of this dear woman who lived through WWII under Hitler & sees America doing the same things that AH did incrementally (unrelated to Trump) including gun control, registration, confiscation, socialized medicine & more.https://www.louderwithcrowder.com/holocaust-survivor-draws-chilling-similarities-between-nazism-and-obama/ …

Odd. So did Great Britain. These, however, ARE the acts of a totalitarian: bullying, trying to damage a company because he has a grudge against the CEO, lying constantly (lying about things I know about as an economic historian), deepening divisions in society, stoking anger ...

Mary: I did not vote for Trump because I believe that morals in leadership matter but I understand that we have him because of Obama... & not because Obama was black... Obama was as divisive as Trump & equally or more like Hitler & I'm concerned that you do not see that yourself.

Because people are complicated and can't always be fitted into discreet boxes. You can feel a certain way about a person, but still have the decency and compassion to offer solace and comfort when that person is in need.
