This letter SOUNDS good. But, he was also the one that he just has to convince the lowest white man...that he was higher than the highest black man. Plus, in order for families to receive gov’t assistance...the male had to move out. A real stand up guy; right.

Nicely written, and smart about how to comfort someone who’s just experienced the ultimate tragedy. In our lifetimes POTUSs have always been able to do this, or smart enough to know that it’s not their strong suit so they have someone do it for them. Except for the present guy.

Can anyone imagine Trump writing such a compassionate letter? Even with all of his “best” words?

#MLK battled segregationist policies & practices that protect white supremacy. Today, segregation, & its close cousin gentrification, continue to negatively impact poor people of color. We remember King's dream, but what are we doing about his reality?https://medium.com/@mikegreen/from-segregation-to-gentrification-c66604a14cde …Thanks. Like all of us, LBJ was flawed, but there is much to admire about him. I remember that awful day clearly. The world changed for the worse that year, 1968. Giants like MLK, LBJ, RFK and others of that time are all long gone; no one has showed up to take their place.

What a complex person LBJ was. Fiercely devoted to civil rights yet so deeply flawed in many other areas (to wit-Viet Nam).
-
Yes indeed. Fascinating biographies.

Bible advocates slavery, tells how much they can be beaten. People still believe in that?
-
Can you get those scriptures for me?
-
Peter 2:18-25 for one. Many more, and not to mention no where does it say "owning humans is wrong folks, don't do that shit".
-
Boy, if you going to go with that scripture you can be my servant... bc there is no where in the Bible that says black OR brown ppl are inferior of NO BODY AND THAT THEY ARE SUPPOSE TO BE SLAVES.
-
Not sure where you correlate what I said with color but hey, whatevs.
