        There are 2 bills in Congress (one in the senate and one in the house) right now to remove the deadline for ratification

        I actually knew that it was endorsed by Nixon, however, I did not know that it was never ratified. Interesting.

        Do the previous states need to re-ratify or will their original ratification stand after all this time? Do amendments have a shelf life, before the process has to start over?
