For those of us old enough to remember Watergate, this is all so familiar. Nixon did the right thing though and resigned because deep down he loved his country. Trump loves only trump..,

I can’t help thinking Nixon would have been smart enough not use Twitter to further incriminate himself.

Nixon knew the Oval Office had a taping system. It’s not about smarts, it’s about paranoia and hubris.

The speed with which you provide applicable historical examples to the news is astounding. Like Trump always has an old tweet contradicting something he says now, you ALWAYS have one showing historical perspective that applies. Thank you and keep up the good work!

A special counsel “may be disciplined or removed from office only by the personal action of the Attorney General” (in this case, the acting attorney general). And Rosenstein can’t do it on a whim. Misconduct, dereliction of duty, incapacity, conflict of interest, etc are reasons.

“The regulation provides that a special counsel may be removed only for good cause and so it doesn’t matter who gives me an order, what that order is, if there isn’t good cause, I would not fire the special counsel, said Rosenstein.”

Yes, funny part is, everyone investigating Trump is a Republican. Of course, Trump himself is not. He just used the Republicans and will toss them aside the minute they begin to act like patriots fans Instead of fan-boys.

Looks like Trump has some kind of pre-ordained death wish to follow in Nixon’s footsteps. Let’s help him along. 😊

Not really, Nixon never did things to harm the US , & he was about power not money, Dotard is about money and he gives a shit about the country. Dotard is a con man

Nixon interfered with peace talks with Vietnam in 1968 b/c he didn't want Dems getting the benefit of peace at the 1968 election. B/c of him the war went on more years and more of our boys died. He did indeed harm the US.

difference is that Nixon had legitimate complaints about Cox's partisanship. Trump does not.

Before anyone draws historical analogies to Trump from this, Mueller is a Republican. He was appointed FBI director by George W. Bush and served under Republican appointed AGs for 2/3 of his 12 year tenure. His reputation is about as above reproach as anyone in government.

That #Nixon was allowed to resign without facing criminal indictments for his corruption is exactly why we have a @realDonaldTrump and his @GOP enablers. Donald Trump MUST be made an example of, lest we have another.

Nixon resigned before the full House voted to impeach. The House Judiciary Committee (IIRC)approved articles of impeachment.
