I believe that is @repjohnlewis kneeling in the foreground.

Not kneeling; being beaten by a police officer.
-
Correct...I should have written "on his knees", my apologies.

John Lewis, only a kid really. I heard him explain he had an apple and orange in his little backpack— that little detail broke my heart. He’s a hero of mine.

What about bloody, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday?

For black folk, it’s a daily reminder.

Can’t like it but understand the significance of the event in the civil rights struggle. Unfortunately, the needle hasn’t move far enough away from these types of interactions. We’ve got different players but the struggle is the same and very real. Heartbreaking.

And that is
@repJohnlewis who is about to have his head bashed in the foreground of the picture. In my State. Only a month before I was born. Schools were desegregated when I entered 1st grade in a Bombingham City School, and tho much has changed, too much remains the same :(Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. 2/Old guard believe MLK was responsible for all the violence & deaths caused during Civil Rights Movements. Heard it often as a child by the people who raised me. Old guard still believes no one with a different skin tone could possibly be more intelligent than themselves. Sick..

You hear the same accusations being hurled today at Black Lives Matter activists, protesting NFL players, outspoken black journalists and politicians... we’re still very much in the same place.
