And socialized that night at the Hampton House motel in Miami with Malcolm X. Neither could stay the night in whites-only Miami Beach. Imagine a young Ali today supporting the take a knee movement. Imagine him taking on a racist president.

Met Mr. Ali outside the old Americana hotel in NYC in the early 70’s. He was sitting in his Rolls Royce. Not only did he give me his autograph which I cherish to this day, but he even let me sit in his Rolls. Thrill of a lifetime!!

The first fight, with the “phantom punch”? I’ve seen that from multiple angles, and if Liston wasn’t on the take, it’s the most efficient use of modest force in the history of mankind.

There were rumors that Liston was owned by the mob and he was told to take a fall but don’t know if that’s true

The - best - fight - ever ! Clay kept his fight plan to himself, didn't even tell his trainer ! Laid on the ropes insulting Liston and taking his punches, wearing him out through the early rounds, then he pounced ! Brilliant boxing mind in his day
