Old Vegas looks like New Reno.
Love the look of old school Las Vegas. I have to admit the Aaron Spelling series Vega$ is a guilty pleasure from time to time.
Someone should build a Las Vegas themed casino in Las Vegas.
That’s how it looked the first time I went to Las Vegas. But I was only 12 so couldn’t go into the casinos!
Miss the Frontier
Great pic! So clear I can see Moe Greene in the background!
Thru late 70
When Sinatra was at his peak.
Lived there for 6 months that year, was 11 at the time, the neon was in motion and magic!
Glad ther are still a million “South of the Border.” Signs.
Beautiful in its own way!
Your pictures are wonderful
I first saw it in 1972. We drove down the strip at night, and my dad asked us if we wanted to get out & walk around and my brother and I both exclaimed "NO!" My bro eventually liked it; I still find it abominable. In 62, we were warned not to eat snow after a bad blast.
It looks quaint.
good old Vegas when it was still bad
And they were still doing above ground testing then!! There is video of the nuclear explosions and the flash from them was visible on the strip.. at least this part of it. Also the singer Brandon Flowers has a song named Miss Atomic Bomb that talks about it.
Classic old Vegas was anything but classy. A neon watering hole in the desert. No need for high rise. Land was cheap and endless.
