Always - captured him perfectly. Have always loved it.
So does the "attempted" imply that there was a later one that became official?
the other one is much better
I think it’s rather nice
Did anyone break the news that as awful as it is,it's a spitting image ...?
It's rather good. No one ever likes there own pictures or paintings.
This one is one of the ugliest pieces I've ever seen...NOTHING of the spirit, warmth, power, or zeal for life of FLOTUS OBAMA is captured here. At the ceremony they were being polite. It's deadly cold, dull, and distorted -another portrait should be done by different artist ASAP!pic.twitter.com/Nr0tu0Nwb5
But that was before the crap art for the Obamas. Looks like George W painted these horrible portraits. The Obamas deserve better. Much, much better.
Curious what the initial public reaction to the JFK Shikler portrait was like. Know it was Jackie O who directed him to have the image not contain a direct gaze. Prior to yesterday, seemed like the largest public departure to the traditional form.
I actually think it's rather nice.
Maybe LBJ thought he should have been done with longer hair (& maybe more Texas attire), like after he left office.
He was both right and wrong. It is not great art or great portraiture, but it IS flattering.
Didn’t show his (appendix?) scar.
This is better than his official portrait.
This is better than the final approved version. Sad that LBJ preferred the colder expression-most likely thought the first one wasn’t “tough”enough.
It's a very good portrait.
