He looks so old, frail and tired...as if he had the weight of the world on his shoulders. Oh, that’s because he did! It’s a shame that he can’t Rest In Peace

He was not yet president, though, when this photo was taken. But he does seem care worn already.

155 years ago today, the largest mass execution in U.S. history took place under the orders of Abraham Lincoln. On Dec 26, 1862, the day after Christmas, 38 Dakota warriors were hanged in Mankato, MN. #Dakota38 pic.twitter.com/N8gSmbZwUG

#Lincoln overcame his personal bigotry to uphold the principles our nation was founded on, that all men are created equal. Will white 'moderates' do the same, or will they side with supremacy, triggering another civil war?

Great photograph, Michael Beschloss . . . . . as is this one of 11th generation down Ralph Lincoln, . next to his split-screen great, great . . . . . Grandfather Abraham Lincoln. Happy Birthday, Mr. Greatest President.pic.twitter.com/qEiubcEhCh

Correction: Robert Todd Lincoln Beckwith, who died in 1985, was the last living descendent of the President. Abraham’s great uncle, Mordecai is Ralph’s 5th generation grandfather. Making Ralph a 3rd generation cousin of the President.

I've heard that same commentary, mark . . and don't dispute it. Ralph refers to himself as a great, great grandson. If I remember correctly, didn't I used wording to that affect? I've been pulled many ways today with business + twitter. Thanks!pic.twitter.com/f9qjz15URJ
