        Probably prescription. He was quite near-sighted but glasses weren't great for his image back then. Also, pretty sure that's his wife sitting in front of him but she was kept "a secret" because she wasn't good for his image at the time either. 😉

        As I recall, Chubby Checker had nothing to do with the "The Peppermint Twist," except perhaps to inspire it because of the popularity of his hit record "The Twist," which was actually recorded first by Hank Ballard. Joey Dee and the Starliters did "Peppermint Twist."
