“Everybody can be great, because everybody can serve….You don’t have to know about Plato and Aristotle to serve. You don’t have to know Einstein’s “Theory of Relativity” to serve...You only need a heart full of grace, a soul generated by love.” — MLK, 50 years ago today

MLK’s words were not meant to be used to sell cars or to show adoration for the military.

I sure wish people would listen to #MLK more than Donald Trump. What does he have that MLK had?

That ad made me sick. It was an insult and a misrepresentation of everything Dr. King was AGAINST -- Militarism, Racism and Poverty.

And using that speech to sell trucks is obscene.

Amazing Speech! Seems quite incongruent that it’s being used to sell trucks!

Some were upset/felt inappropriate to use MLK for commercial, I thought it was BRILLIANT&POSITIVE to hear MLK’s POWERFUL words because they reached Millions w/limited knowledge of MLK & what he stood for!Commercial was more about MLK, truck was secondary! IMO #msnbc @JoyAnnReid

Amazing words wasted on an ad for a fucking pick up truck. A truck does not "serve" as a human with a heart can/does.

I love the quote and it was rather surprising/disappointing to hear it featured in a Dodge Ram commercial.

Sounds better when a historian quotes MLK than a Ram truck sales ad
