Remember as a teenager watching first Super Bowl (not called the Super Bowl) on a 13" black & white TV and thought it was great although back then & now being a Patriots fan it seemed like an eternity before we got there only to be trounced. But now well history will write that

If the NFL had agreed immediately, their 1964 champion Cleveland Browns would have played in the inaugural Super Bowl. Instead, 53 years later, no Super Bowl for the @Browns.

Two weeks after returning from the first voyage to the moon, the Apollo 8 astronauts -- Jim Lovell, Frank Borman & Bill Anders -- led the Pledge of Allegiance at Super Bowl III. (Sadly, no proofreaders on hand at NBC that day, Jan 12, 1969.)pic.twitter.com/Dk1Un3KzC9

If only the first game had taken place after that ‘64 season; the #Browns would’ve been the NFL rep. As it is, they’ve NEVER been in the game.

I love the Cleveland Browns reference. Many of us still remember them as winners and await it happening again soon.

I had no idea that Marine legend Joe Foss was part of football history. My dad was in the US Navy in the Pacific and said Mr. Foss was a hell of a pilot.

Interesting letter, but who would be thinking about this some two weeks or so after we lost JFK ? As it turned out, "matchup" did not take place until a few years later.
