        I'd say FDR was inarguably the greatest public figure of the 20th Century. Churchill was only a short-tempered buffoon whose only ability was to pontificate well. FDR had an astute military mind and with foresight unequal to any other leader.

        He was the man Great Britain needed when they needed him and he filled that role brilliantly but outside of that he was a racist, classist, old money asshole. Australians remember him for getting a lot of their men killed at Gallipoli in WWI.
