That 10-room home would be $80,646 adjusted for today's inflation.
Adjusted for today's #inequality about $800,646 unless you live in CA where it would be $8,000,646.https://twitter.com/BeschlossDC/status/938925198832734208 …

@BeschlossDC What a great tweet. Saw a segment on CBS Sunday Morning touring all the Sears & Roebuck homes in the Chicago area. Fascinating
We are currently living in an 'Argyle' style Sears home in Cheverly, MD. Almost 100 years old and still standing strong! Beams in our basement are numbered; for easier construction on site. We love our cozy little cottage.
I live in a 16 American 4 Square farm house in rural Iowa. It was built in 1915 and cost $750. A barn was built by the same people the next year and cost $1250. Both are still in amazing condition.
Some of these plans can still be found and a LOT of these houses are still standing on the east coast.
There are many of these homes here in Scranton, near where VP Biden lived as a child.
I used to live in a "Sears" neighborhood, the garage came with a Model T.
"Price does not include cement, brick, or plaster." 1-star.
Are any still standing?

According to inflation calculator it is worth 90,581dollars. Still a very good value without factoring in the most important location location location.
There are great examples of these still standing! http://www.searshomes.org/index.php/2013/08/29/eight-pretty-maggies-in-a-row/ …
