Thinking of that day always makes my throa tighten, heart pound and eyes moist. America had dreams...

Damn, my mom is probably in that photo... She said that on Nov 22, 1963 America lost it's innocence...
-
My mom says the same. JFK’s assassination changed the direction of our country for the oligarchy
-
My Mom who went to Georgetown at the time said, I'm paraphrasing here but, "America WAS a land of hope and possibility. The Moon shot was the last hurrah of a once great nation."
-
Yes

I read this to my mother. My generation watched the moon landing. Your generation watches the K ardashians.

-
Tell yer mom, we’ll try to UN-fuk the world.
-
My mom’s generation are the producers who put the K ardashians on the air

I remember this well. What a dark time. So sad. The shock to the American Conscience. How far we have fallen from greatness. So sad.

I watched the realtime video of the Kennedy assassination breaking news with Cronkite yesterday. Memories. Love the photos, thanks for posting.
-
Don’t you wish we had Cronkite back again? There was some news you could believe in.

My third clear memory is my mother bawling so loud I thought the world had ended. On TV was a procession with a feisty black horse. I guess we never forget.

I'll never forget that whole weekend. The whole world mourned w/ us. It was a horrible time & I believe the US woke up that day & everything changed. The 60's were perhaps the most important decade for our country. We were totally divided in so many ways because of the war.
