There are so many great quotes from JFK & RFK, this is one of my favorites. I think from his speech at American University.pic.twitter.com/7P81F5rsPr
sounds dramatic, but I have always believed that JFK Jr.'s death altered the course of history in some way. We will never know.
Jan. 20, 2017: "WASHINGTON -- After overcoming a historically nasty campaign that included his political neophyte opponent calling him Failed Lawyer John John, John F. Kennedy Jr. will take the presidential oath of office today, the third time the son of a president has done so."
(The thought of a Kennedy scion defeating Nixon's Ghost is just too appealing.)
Camelot
Note Jackie had a white lace head covering - women had to cover their heads in a Catholic Church back then.
Yes, a mantilla.
For the life of me I couldn’t remember the name.
Ask ev'ry person if he's heard the story, And tell it strong and clear if he has not, That once there was a fleeting wisp of glory Called Camelot. ... Don't let it be forgot That once there was a spot For one brief shining moment that was known As Camelot.
It wasn’t just Jackie who thought of Camelot after the President died - a lot of us did. I had just seen Camelot on Broadway for my birthday. This is the end of play reprise, and of course Richard Burton. It captures the sense of loss.
I once met John Jr at a diner in the Hamptons He was with Darryl But I could not take my eyes off him The most beautiful person I ever witnessed He was too good to be true! Doomed by infallibility
I often wonder what the world would be like today if he had lived
I think we all do..... Bobby, too
