I believe that Lincoln would be ashamed of what his political party has become. They have abandoned every single belief that he fought for & elevated him to the status of legend. Perhaps the modern GOP should take pause & let that sink in.

        the modern GOP isn't Lincoln's party. Pre-Reconstruction GOP = modern-day Dems

Doesn't stop the modern day GOP from boasting that they were once the "Party of Lincoln" when are looking for cover from their racist agenda.

And isn't it a shame that more & more schools are no longer teaching script? Many young people can't read this. 😟

Sigh... I've actually had the amazing privilege of holding the The Gettysburg Address. Just thinking about trying to read President Lincoln's handwriting through my tears breaks my heart when I think about the current occupant of the WH. 💔

Ironically, Lincoln was a Republican wartime president seeking to unite America and Trump is a Republican president at war with any effort to unite America.https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/trumps-war-against-inclusive-america-mike-green …

Sadly, our current #POTUS can’t put together 278 coherent words together, let alone anything that would stand the test of time.

"...The world will little note nor long remember what we say here, but it could never forget what they did here.." Lincoln could not be more wrong. This is one of the most memorized orations ever.

Could you also unearth the little known letter, which Lincoln wrote weeks after delivering the Emancipation Proclamation, threatening African Americans with a return to slavery because they did not sufficiently thank him? Asking for a friend... #precident
