Eisenhower (with JFK at Dulles Airport dedication 55 years ago today) had wanted to name airport for his mentor George Marshall, who had lived nearby:pic.twitter.com/24HouNJ3UX

Am I the only one who is mad everytime they walk thru the airport that it was named for Dulles and not Marshall?

You don't like reminiscing about US corporate-sponsored coups and assassinations instead of rebuilding war torn Europe? Weirdo.

Ike was not a big fan of the Dulles brothers.

Not sure about Marshall mentoring Ike. He'd only met him a couple of times before WWII.

That would have been a good decision, no matter how close Marshall lived.

Cosigned. He deserves to be as famous as Ike and MacArthur (if not more)

Same Ike who on campaign trail refused to refute McCarthy's attacks on Marshall's loyalty to U.S. Ike was a turd

Good thing it wasn't named for Marshall, because eventually there would have been two Marshall Airports (BWI and IAD) in the same airspace.

Is BWI also Marshall? I thought it was just BWI. I haven't been there in years, though.
