@BeschlossDC In 1882 US Supreme Court ruled Arlington was unduly confiscated & returned it to Lee's family who then sold it to US Congress.
@BeschlossDC The first soldier buried at Arlington was PFC Will Chirstman from PA. He was buried in Mary Lee's rose garden to mortify her.
