@BeschlossDC Original #logo 1 of my all-time favorites! #TheGarden hasn't been same since logo discontinued N 1990s.pic.twitter.com/FCkEjCwfGG
.@BeschlossDC One reason this MSG so unpopular is the basic (Charles Luckman--LA based) design is somewhat spare / "arena in park" suburban.
.@BeschlossDC Orig'l design, did have some interesting possibilities, tho, esp w/ connection to its office bldg--but was left "unexplored."
.@BeschlossDC While not crazy about setup of arena (bowl shape w "droppy" ceiling), it is somewhat clever . . .
.@BeschlossDC Ring around roof is like big bicycle wheel w/ bridge-like steel suspension wires supporting roof (compression ring & tension).
.@BeschlossDC Normally, a roof like that would flutter like piece of paper in wind -- but heavy HVAC equipment in center prevents that.
@BeschlossDC You can almost hear the "Potvin sucks" coming from the blue seats.
@BeschlossDC Doesn't look very square to me.
@BeschlossDC It looks so innocent pre-James Dolan.
