@BeschlossDC women were pretty cheap back then, eh?
.@BeschlossDC [1/_] Nassau St. looking south around 1905. Still looks a lot like this. St is one of rare shopping streets in lower Manhattn.
.@BeschlossDC [2/_] In 1960s narrow st was really mobbed at lunchtime--amazing--so city started experimenting (1st in NYC?) closing to cars.
.@BeschlossDC [3/_] Was really "fun" (unusual) for time. BUT then in '70s reconstructed street as pedestrianized mall--IMO what a disaster!
.@BeschlossDC [4/_] Believe street has been turned back into a regular street again relatively recently.
@BeschlossDC I am in awe of the sharpness of this photo. Wow!
“@BeschlossDC: Here is New York City, Nassau Street, about 1905: #LOC pic.twitter.com/Z7KV63iyba” It hasn't changed much, which is nice.

@BeschlossDC Wow! Women only cost $3.50 back then?
@BeschlossDC hi Michael. I love the photos you put up of NY. My friends and I are coming NY in April, what would you recommend we see? :-D
@BeschlossDC That "Printing" sign on the left looks awfully modern.
@BeschlossDC you can zoom in on a person in a window on the right
@Thefourhourgame @BeschlossDC Zooming in on that person was cool. Showed it to my 8 y.o. 109 years ago.
@BeschlossDC Lived in a loft at 145 Nassau St. Important along with Dakota in "Time and Again." Great story! @martysnowpaw @jonnykanyon
NYSE facade is barely visible in distance. RT @BeschlossDC: Here is New York City, Nassau Street, about 1905: #LOCpic.twitter.com/eYsU4oGPxH
