@BeschlossDC This would appear to be West 43rd St. That's Rosoff's on the left, a popular restaurant for decades. It closed in the 1980s.

@BeschlossDC Hey honey, I'm heading to the food shop.
@BeschlossDC (I see that you took the attribution thing to heart. A bit harder w/only 140 characters...)
@BeschlossDC Beautiful thanks
@BeschlossDC @MoLovesNY dirt cheap and no bed bugs
@republicknicks @BeschlossDC Haha well said.
@BeschlossDC that some cheap room rates.
.@BeschlossDC Nice (& rare) '54 photo of NYC side st. Seems like W. 43rd St looking east from betwn 7th & 8th Avenues (just west of T Sq)?
.@BeschlossDC To me, also shows "original" problem w Times Sq -- not (then) crime, etc., but kind of a run down, urban backwater quality.
.@BeschlossDC Looking at photo, can also see where it might seem "vibrant"--so maybe projecting recollections of worn paint, disrepair, etc.
.@BeschlossDC Maybe it's "Andy's" (on right) that is the backwater "madeleine"?
@progressive4u2 @BeschlossDC Wow. $1.50 in 1954 is equal to $12.99 in 2013.
