Today 1953, outgoing President Truman announced advent of United States hydrogen bomb: "From now on, man moves into a new era of destructive power, capable of creating explosions of a new order of magnitude, dwarfing the mushroom clouds of Hiroshima and Nagasaki."pic.twitter.com/GGs2IWQ51x

Dreadful. Have we ever considered the impact testing these bombs (atomic dropped on Hiroshima estimated to have been > 6000 degrees F) has had on climate?

In an alternate universe- this would have been received with the horror it deserved. The spiral of destruction and potential annihilation we perpetuate as a species will continue to escalate towards catastrophe

Yes but look as a paradox, no major conflict all out war since then. Game theory works perfectly. The outcomes will always be negative for everyone in case of all out war. Maybe these weapons did more for world peace then you think.
