When I was in High School I was nicknamed the Jolly Green Giant, because, I hope, of my positive, nice guy/geek demeanor. One guy said, Brian, you are the kind of guy who would give free swimming lessons in the Titanic Pool as she was sinking. I think it was a complement.pic.twitter.com/pyTkMvrbOK

Have you studied the history of the Titanic, Mr. Beschloss -- either professionally as a casual historian?
-
The Titanic legacy includes: 1) The International Ice Patrol which tracks ice bergs in the North Atlantic. 2) Two-way radio seen as a valuable communication tool. 3) Halifax coroner John Henry Barnstead established procedures for mass casually events such as 9/11.

My sons birthday tomorrow. I remember the titanic date because of it. His great great grandmother was one of the lacemakers for the titanics linen. She lived close to the boatyard and saw it leave Belfast on its first trip.
