No this was before Trump bought it. Fun coincidence thought.

Mar-a-lago means Ocean-to-lake, or ocean-to-lagoon. It makes sense if your estate takes up the whole width of a barrier island, as M-a-L does.
-
Named by Marjorie Merriwether Post who built it.

Post Toasties?

Yup. She was the heiress to the Post cereal money

I took my family on a trip to Ruidoso, NM last year. One of the towns we drove by was Post, Texas. I found it peculiar just by its name. It's in west Texas in the middle of nowhere. Low and behold it was a "city" designed by the Post family. Interesting.

Really looking forward to the asset forfeiture part of the Mueller investigation's outcome. The US govt will get Mar-a-Lago back as Marjorie Merriweather Post intended, but instead of it being a "Winter White House" for presidents, it should house homeless vets.

Speaking of the federal government and a post (lower p intentional) property taken by Trump, maybe the US will take back the US Post Office Building in DC, too.
