... I still have a full list of "negro demands."

My cynical, "dear god what is up with this country" response is "Unfortunately, apparently they were not realistic." Kind of amazing since two of the "demands" were "stop killing us" and "let us vote." Country still says "nope, not possible, sorry." Sickening.
-
I should have said "their" demands to make it clear I'm not coopting their voice. Damn lack of edits on tweets.

It’s cool. I got it.

The actual article is titled “Power Structure, Integration, Militancy, Freedom Now” & discusses the dilemma faced by civil rights leadership (black AND white)between the rhetoric of revolution & the mechanism of realizable change. It’s a laughably dated read, but hello, Bernie.

Thank you, sir! Your flashbacks are not only entertaining, they give us a window into the past. This one in particular, is stunning.

Teddy White's next piece in LIFE would be about Camelot.
-
Wrong Ted. JFK'S speech writer was Ted Sorensen.
-
Right Ted. The article about Camelot was written by Theodore H. White, author of "The Making of the President 1960" and a former Time-LIFE staffer.
