Note all the clergy are vested in cassock, surplice, and scarf. Not a cassock-alb or broad stole among them. Yeah, the mid-to-late 1960s were the point of no return for the Episcopal Church in many ways

Yes, that caught my eye and hence the RT. I would guess that it was still an era when many in PECUSA experienced Mattins on a Sunday morning (?).

I think that is undoubtedly true. Before the "parish communion" movement was realized in the 1970s, in many places MP/ante-communion was the normative Sunday service

Some fascinating insights and quotes from her in your #PresidentsofWar tome @BeschlossDC. Her marriage/partnership w/FDR was certainly an unusual one even by today’s standards. A formidable First Lady nonetheless.https://twitter.com/BeschlossDC/status/1059626670452367361 …

I wish we had people this close to this ability. My pops had tea with the First Lady. He said she was eloquent, funny, charming, and graceful. A wonderful person to take time to talk to University students.

As I noted to one of your repliers - Herbert Hoover was still alive in 1962 but in poor health at the age of 88 and unable to attend. Otherwise, they were all there, as was future president Lyndon Johnson. Not sure if Nixon was there or not - Michael?
