William Daniels as John Adams in the 1972 movie adaptation of the 1969 musical, “1776”. Three of his many roles have included: - Dr. Craig in “St. Elsewhere” - voice of K.I.T.T. in “Knight Rider” - Mr. Feeny in “Boy Meets World”pic.twitter.com/7XfwHEyKf9

Best. Musical. Ever.

No argument! I played trumpet for a community theater run of “1776” in 1996 and loved it, too.

Sit down, John!

I was lucky enough to see the original Broadway production when I was a kid. It made me a huge US history fan.
-
You win
and I’m a little envious. It must have been such a great production. Was Ken Howard in that cast? -
Ken Howard, William Daniels, Howard da Silva, Betty Buckley

I never knew they did 'life' masks. ..wow
-
You get a straw to breathe through while they plaster your face and head. And then you wait for it harden. And then they whack it to open. To be 90 and undergo that probably wasn't much fun.

What is a "life mask"??
-
Never mind. Looked it up. Had never heard before that this was even a thing. Wow.
-
Yes, they had no photography of course so a painting was the other choice.
-
So close though for photography. The first photograph was created around 1824. Not much more than 10 years between the last Founder dying and usable photography.
