It saddens me. The forefathers had such good intentions, and it went well before trump!

Neither John Adams nor any other past President could ever have foreseen in his wildest imagination the disgrace to the Office that is Trump.

I believe they did foresee someone like trump, what they didn’t foresee was that the House& Senate would be complicit! That was supposed to be the check and http://balance.It  worked with Nixon, his own party finally said “enough”. It’s nowhere on the horizon now!

I respectfully disagree. I don’t believe anyone in the past Presidents’ political circles or personal circles from Adams on, would have ever had any association with the likes of Trump.

I do agree with you on that, yet I can’t for the life of me figure out how we ended up here! The forefathers couldn’t imagine such a thing as twitter/Facebook. Or that adversarial forces (Putin)could change the course of America.

Your points are well taken, and I, too, am both horribly saddened and angry at where we find ourselves. However, I am equally confident that we, as Democrats, will end the scourge of Trump and restore our democracy as we know it. First step: VOTE 11/6!

While those that came after Adams were more presidential and implemented beneficial policies, some were virulent racists, obstructed justice, implemented “ voodoo economics”, and increased the Military Industrial Complex. See Jackson, Wilson, Nixon, Reagan, Bush 41, and Bush 43.

Agreed. But those before Dump were partly the foundation for this madness. Reagan started the era of the modern presidential popularity contest. Though he was a governor he was an actor first. He mastered optics, empty catch phrases, and stoked fears among blue collar Whites.

Reagan, the B-list, ignorant, actor whose charisma & ACTING ability made him look presidential. Dolt45 has nothing but marketing, sly ability to frame discussion, propagandize everything, & vicious malignant narcississm. I hope he is not our last Pres, and that he's our worst.
