Seems like a long time back, but he was president when my great-grandmother who held me as a baby got married.

When was your great grandmother born? Would have to have been around 1845? If she lived to 90 that would make you ~85.
-
1849. Married a man 30 years her senior at age 14, which wasn't unusual in that time. She lived to 107 and died five weeks after I was born. She actually had two new great-grandchildren that day. Myself & a cousin, born the same day in the same hospital.

Wow, quite the life.

What a has-been according to Trump. "What has he done lately."
-
LOL! I thought he likened himself to 'Ol Abe, or was that Andrew Jackson? So hard to keep up with Trump's many delusions!
-
He did. "I polled better than Lincoln," the moron said not realizing polling wasn't around until decades later.
-
So much that he just doesn't know or even think to check out, before he speaks.

I took a look around to see what Lincoln was doing 160 years ago this week. This photo was taken Sep. 26, 1858, amidst the Lincoln-Douglas debates and Lincoln's (unsuccessful) run for U.S. Senate. A reminder that a principled position can overshadow short term success.

We will get through this. We are not all complicit or corrupt.

Lincoln would not recognize today's Republican Party as his own. Nor would Stephen Douglas recognize today's Democrats as his http://party.In fact, in Lincoln's day, today's GOP would better be represented by John Wilkes Booth.
