A good time to remember that Canada received, housed and fed 33,000 passengers aboard 224 flights that were diverted to Canada and grounded here on 9/11-including thousands of Americans. https://www.thecanadianencyclopedia.ca/en/article/canada-and-911/ …

forecast as reported by Daniel Dale. It's an egregious, hurtful and cowardly way for Trump to renegotiate NAFTA. A good deal is a deal that's FAIR to both sides-not one that economically damages Canada in Trump's attempt to bully and break us. 5/

Shameful, and every American should oppose Trump's bullying of the US' closest and most steadfast friend, ally and trading partner Canada. /end

Most of us support Canada. DT should be personally sanctioned.

Thank you, and agree. It's good to see Americans and Canadians engaging in dialog on social media & supporting one another. Our long and enduring friendship should not be fractured by a temporary madman in the WH. It hurts, however, to see Canada bullied for doing nothing wrong.

Damn, now I'm crying. We have lost so much as a nation since then.

Remember how we came together as one to help those in need? I am so proud of what we, as Americans, can do in times of trouble. Remember, too, the past will never change, but we can carve out our future. We have a resourcefulness and resilience that is beyond compare!
-
I just hope that's still there. I'm terrified it may not be . . .

I really do hear you, but don’t cower in fear. Take that fear, turn it into anger and work toward a better tomorrow. Make a phone call, send an email to your Senators and Rep, letting them know your concerns. Volunteer for someone running for office that you want to see win.
-
I agree! Doing something: calling, emailing, volunteering, writing postcards (
@DemocratWit), protesting and marching makes me feel useful!! It is better than sitting around feeling scared and worried!!#Resist -
Definitely not cowering. But I'm not sure having the Dems win this fall will help make DJT's followers realize they've been duped. Dems MUST win but it's going to take a while to put the country back together.

I hate to write off any human being, but if they're still with Trump at this point, how deluded or amoral can they possibly be? Most of the "let's try something different" & "he'll be presidential once he's president" ppl have fled in dismay at their lapse of reason already
-
There are those people who have a problem admitting they made a mistake, because they equate a mistake with failure. Don’t be too quick to write them off. We don’t always know people’s true motivations.

I wasn't in NYC, but the Midwest. It was an exceptionally beautiful day. Warm, not a cloud in the sky. My mom and I remarked on it. Nothing has really been the same since.
-
That is what I remember too...the beautiful blue sparkling sky when I was walking to work in Boston on Sept. 11...about the same time as the assassins were boarding the planes. It seems even more evil that they carried out their plan on such a lovely day.

I lived across from a bald eagle habitat, home to a mating pair that had returned to nest for nearly 20 years. The eaglets fledged in late August. I was having coffee on the deck, hoping to see them fly. I gave up, walked back into the house & saw the smoking tower on TV.

I went to NYC that November for my nephew's bris. It was Marathon weekend & the weather was spectacular. I sat on a bench in Central Park. A vintage convertible rolled past. A guy in a Yankees cap sat up on the back, waving. It was Rudy Guiliani, America's mayor.

Rick Wilson is correct ‘Everything TrumpnTouches Dies’. Giuliani will no longer be remembered for what he did to clean up New York and to hold it together after 9/11. Instead, he will be remembered as part of the Trump clown show...sad.

Yes, I remember him speaking on TV in the aftermath of 9/11 and he seemed so caring and dignified, but, as you say he is now part of Trump's circus troupe. Shame on him.
