Perhaps a more devastating blow to the rule of law than anything Nixon did. I voted for Nixon twice, was slow to come around to the fact he had to go. By the time he quit crimes were known and many more were suspected. I felt my trust had been violated and justice should be done.

People said then that it would have long-term ramifications far beyond the Watergate mess, when all that was history. It has. If Nixon had been tried, convicted, and then given a suspended sentence with confinement to his home in San Clemente I'd have been satisfied.

This is why we should not impeach Trump. Pence would do exactly the same thing. We need a Democrat majority House and Senate to check Trump until he is voted out in 2020. Then, he can be indicted, convicted and sent to prison. Nothing less is acceptable.

he had not been charged, so there was nothing to admit to. It was preemptive. At most it was an admission that there might be things he be convicted of.
