This was such a big deal at the time; I was only 11 but remember it happening and the news coverage of it...statesmanship at the highest level.

Amazing. This seems like another lifetime now. You know a President always looks like they've aged so much after leaving office. This time it will be Americans that have looked they've aged 10 or 20 years.

Carter was an underrated President. We had low car emissions decades before the Europeans because of Carter.

I’m still not totally sure the world appreciates the remarkable capability of a good man, President Carter, to make a great difference! What a study in contrast to today!

No Chris I meant Russia. Because in your world only the KGB has agency, and the other people have no brains or wills of their own. So yes, the KGB assassinated Sadat. Are you satisfied? I’m sure you are.

The Saudi's hadn't ramped up Oil Prices yet (lines & rationing), and the Iran Hostage Situation will still in the future. I was 16 and wondered "where is this thing they call the 'Middle East'"?

I was at Andrews when Sadat landed. The image of the Egyptian flag on the plane and Sadat’s charisma is something I will never forget. Courage and diplomacy.
