There is no doubt that the McCain men were built of tough stuff but the award for sheer steel must go to his mom, 106yo Roberta McCain At 93 when told too old to rent a car in Europe she bought one & drove it herselfhttps://www.businessinsider.com/john-mccains-mother-roberta-peugeot-2018-8 …

Is that Admiral John McCain Jr on the left with Richard Nixon and Frank Borman watching the recovery of Apollo 11 from the bridge of the USS Hornet? He was present on the ship, but can't find definitive confirmation for this photo. Anyone know?pic.twitter.com/3Azuww0FNO

He reassigned the Hornet in June '69 for Apollo recovery and was on the helicopter going from Johnson Island to the Hornet with Nixon, Borman, Paine, Haldeman, Kissinger and Rogers, but is that definitely McCain in the photo? That's what I am looking to confirm. Thanks.

Thanks. First time I've seen Rogers on the bridge. There's silent 16mm film of McCain on Johnson Island when Air Force One landed. Of course, Rodgers hired Mike Collins as the State Dept POA chief in Nov '69.

As long as we’re discussing history, never forget the USS Liberty. John McCain’s father, Admiral John McCain Jr., was responsible for a “commission” intended to whitewash Israel’s bombing of the Liberty (& murder of 34 US Navy personnel + wounding of 173)https://consortiumnews.com/2015/07/04/still-waiting-for-uss-libertys-truth/ …
