There's my very first girl crush.

Me too. She was so nice and so appreciative towards her audience. Music was so different back then. No bouncers. No selfies. No even autographs. There was mutual respect for the music.

March 1968. Electric Factory. Philadelphia. I had a 15 year old girl crush
-
Wow...great Philly venue! Ever see anyone at Latin Casino? This just came up earlier talking about Jackie Wilson, who had a massive heart attack on the Cherry Hill stage.
-
I was too young. I was young for The Trauma & the Electric Factory but I was lucky. My next door neighbor had a band that played 3rd bill & we got in free. Went every weekend. Hung out backstage. I was 14 when I saw The Velvet Underground & Mother’s of Invention. I was lucky.

Totally blessed life (non-religious).
-
Yes. Totally blessed. It was all about the music. I went with my friends to the Filmore East. We only had one fantastic experience after another. Nights you could wander the Village with no fear. No hate. No violence. It was incredible. We cared about each other.
-
Not a perfect time, but so rich in post-Woodstock euphoria about creating a better workd.

I was a month away from being born just down the road in Orange. I was in my late teens before the area finally began to acknowledge her again after she, rightfully, disparaged much of the area before her death. The Museum of the Gulf Coast has a good tribute to her.
-
I haven't been back to PA since early 90's ! Where is the Gulf Coast Museum?
-
On Procter Street. Downtown by Lamar-Port Arthur...surrounded by a lot of boarded up old buildings.
