No guns. No violence. Just peace love and music. (And mud)
And it's 1-2-3-
what are we fightin' 4?
Don't ask me , I don't give a damn
My next stop is Viet Nam...

What a wonderful reminder! Make love not war! Flower power! Thank you for this!

My husband and I were both there! We didn’t meet until 31 years later but we are kindred spirits.
I only know one person who was there, and they ended up as Dean at a law school. I think it was less peace, love and understanding than “don’t want to miss this generational event” for the concert goer turned law prof.
I would have stood for Jimi’s anthem
Simple reason this can never happen again. This happened organically. And as I have said about a million times. Nobody had guns!!! Period. I never knew anyone with a gun. We were all about peace and non violence.
Manson murders were last week- those two, plus Moon landing are all linked in my 16 y/o memory
The best time ever regardless of all the rain and mud!!
And not one device.
Thank you Michael Beschloss @BeschlossDC for reminding me there are so many other things to remember and enjoy You lift me out of the muck we are in and I thank you
It rained then and it’s raining now
I love following Michael Beschloss on Twitter...
I was at a similar event on the west coast. I wish we could turn back the clock.
Altamont?
I got here in 71 and everywhere you looked no hippies, time to drop back on and make money, the war was raging tho, saw John Lennon at a peace rally at 57th st in NYC, a crazy decade
I was there. Told my parents I was babysitting. Was grounded for a year afterwards. Good times!
