He also called #Oppenheimer a “crybaby scientist” when Oppenheimer told him he felt like he had blood on his hands. Then told Dean Acheson he didn’t ever want to see Oppenheimer in his office again.

I wouldn't be here if Truman hadn't made that decision. It's a hard choice to contemplate given my obvious bias.

For some, the personal factor makes it easier. I interviewed a non-Japanese national who the Empire had threatened to execute (along with Allied POWs) if the powers arrayed against Japan attempted a land invasion. She had to hide her relief at the bomb drop.

Sure, thanks for asking. It's Journey Interrupted by Hillie Mahoney, who had an incredible life before, during and after. On her way back to Germany, her family becomes stranded in wartime Japan. http://historyauthor.com/2016/07/mahoney-journey-interrupted/ … Also available on iTunes, iHeartRadio, etc.

Can you imagine in 20, 30 years, all the books, movies, expert pundits, etc, that will try to explain this moron? I hope I'm around to enjoy the carnage.

if they werent afraid that the bombs wouldnt blow up, they could have dropped the first one in a remote countryside to scare the crap out fo the citizens.
