Trump will never admit to anything (unless he shoots somebody on 5th Avenue). They would have to drag him out kicking and screaming while he's yelling about "Crooked Hillary" and the "witch hunt."

Oh to have a Congress where evidence of presidential criminal activity would produce impeachment as a virtually foregone conclusion.

I got my first job at The Washington Post the summer that Nixon resigned. I was a gopher working on a guide book, but our offices were on the same floor as Kay Graham's. On the day Nixon left office, all the curtains were drawn for fear of snipers.

History is going to repeat itself, be patient...

Only if we vote the complicit GOP out. They had their chance to lead, check and balance the buffoon and instead they put out fog to slow it down while they rubber stamped unqualified judges to pack the courts.

All Republicans in Congress should have to watch comprehensive documentary on Watergate. This is how patriotic Republicans behave when dealing with corrupt Republican President.

Here is what Trump does not understand. Basically Trump is doing the very same thing Nixon did. Look what happened to him.

I don’t think what Nixon did comes close to the sick behavior of DJT. If everything he’s done came to light, documented in his own handwriting, emails, voice recorded conversations, photographic documentation, etc.he would never admit it, nor would his cult followers believe it

Even Nixon had some conscience and a moment of clarity. As did the Republican senators who urged him to step down. Will history repeat itself? The signs do not look promising.

Nixon’s big mistake, apparently, was not issuing the order publicly.

Nixon knew when it was time to fall on the sword bc I suspect he was told. I suspect that
@BeschlossDC has a good story or 2 abt some congressmen & senators who visited Nixon at some point & gave him the news: you’re going to lose, so don’t fight. That’s the way these things end! -
Sens. Henry Cabot Lodge and Barry Goldwater went to the WH on Aug. 8, 1974, and told Nixon they did not have the votes to save him from conviction. He announced his resignation that night, effective the next day.

Just to be clear: Nixon admitted ordering a halt to the inquiry. But the inquiry wasn’t actually halted, right? So merely ordering a halt was enough for him to know he’d be impeached? My how far we’ve fallen.
