I was in Miami at this Convention working for CBS News. We were producing a special for "young people" on the political conventions (R & D's) to be aired on a Saturday morning.
And Sammy got a lot of blowback for this as I recall.
Sammy got a good deal of heat from civil rights leaders for that.
