My Dad was a lawyer all of his professional life and worked on the top floor of the Taft Building for many years. I’ve watched the city change around it but the building remains a monument of fond memories of my Dad and how amazing Hollywood was.

Below is the Wilshire Brown Derby, intersection of Wilshire Boulevard and Alexandria Avenue. There were 4 Brown Derby locations in all. Beverly Hills, Los Feliz, Hollywood, and Wilshire Boulevard. - Photo by Ansel Adams circa 1940pic.twitter.com/ZfMy2xiyFB

Golden age of Hollywood. Before the smog, Disneyland and while there were still streetcars. A sweetness gone by... so far gone now.

Gorgeous picture. My aunt moved there from NYC in the ‘40s- her stepfather was a producer at MGM. She said it was “paradise” then. No freeways, no smog, an intact ozone layer
