@msnbc @cnn @Morning_Joe I remember NIXON'S chilling words saying he'd honor a DEFINITIVE ruling from the Court. Beneath those seemingly harmless words was the BOMBSHELL threat: NIXON would NOT honor a SPLIT decision to turn over the TAPES. The PRESS & the public barely NOTICED.

@jheil@howardfineman@JohnWDean@realBobWoodward@tomhanks@DeadlineWH@allinwithchris@hardball@TheBeatWithAri@TheLastWord@maddow@jmeacham@SenateDems@variety@theview My BLOOD ran COLD hearing NIXON'S veiled THREAT. Years LATER it was revealed that the COURT heard it too. -
@HouseDemocrats@dnc@SCOTUSblog@newsweek@playboy@esquire@NewYorker The JUSTICES were INCENSED that NIXON would DARE declare he would ONLY obey a DEFINITIVE ruling. However SUBTLE the words may have been to the PRESS & the public, to the JUSTICES it was a SHOT across the BOW. -
@TheDemCoalition@VelshiRuhle@DorisKGoodwin@HallieJackson@mitchellreports@tpm From the MOMENT the CONFERENCE started, all EIGHT justices were DETERMINED to return a UNANIMOUS decision. The RULING landed like a BOMBSHELL. Howard COSELL: "DOWN goes FRAZIER! Down goes Frazier!" -
@kasie@KatyTurNBC@time@Cosmopolitan@nypost@nytpolitics@Shareblue@thehill@politicususa@sternshow@thr BOGIE: "It was AIRTIGHT" George CARLIN: "Plastic WRAPPED & VACUUM packed" NIXON was REELING. It was the BEGINNING of the END. BUGS Bunny: "What's the PUNCH LINE, Doc?" -
@BBCNews@1010WINS@wlsam890@WGNRadio@MLB@cnbc@BostonGlobe@washingtonpost@tmz STUDS Terkel: "The PUNCH LINE as our RABBIT friend here inquires is that it's HAPPENING again. When Trump-Russia cases go to the Supreme Court WATCH for Trump to say he'll OBEY a UNANIMOUS ruling" -
@RollingStone@jaketapper@mtaibbi@Isikoff@IgnatiusPost@mikebarnicle@wolfblitzer@PhillyInquirer@MiamiHerald@JFKLibrary@ColumbiaLaw@nyulawreview@Harvard_Law@USATODAY BOGIE: "Meaning he won't HONOR one otherwise" STUDS: "Precisely. And that's when the WHEELS come OFF"

I'm quite confident that most of you historians are going to list Trump as the worst of all U.S. presidents. And of course old man Trump will call you guys Fake Historians. I hope that doesn't make you lose sleep.
-
Oh, the historians who will be falling all over themselves to figure out how this heinous man became president will be graduate students being born now, for whom it WILL be history, and Trump will no longer be around to express an opinion.
-
Actually tho I don't think it really matters whether Trump will be around to express an opinion on this matter or not. He is so inarticulate and childish, so ignorant and prone to lying, that I don't see how anything he has to say about it could really carry any weight.
-
Have you *met* his base? (Asking figuratively, of course.)
-
I don't get out much. I know one fellow who is a big Trump fan. He's a really nice guy and I like him a lot. I have told him tho what I think of Trump, and now I don't bump into him any more. Maybe he's avoiding me. I am mystified how a nice guy like him can like Trump so much.
-
I have a really close friend who voted for Trump. She’s a wonderful woman, but we do not talk politics. Ever. Pick your battles.

Great moments in Watergate History. Remember when Nixon's legal team said he was such a dotard he would be unable to testify without perjuring himself? Me neither.

This is so much worse than Watergate... the biggest problem we have it that Trump has been systematically and randomly undermining and usurping all existing legitimate authority... he's replacing the rule of law in the US, with authoritarian rule... dictators can't be indicted...
