Growing up, I remember almost being annoyed by how often we were sending astronauts to the moon. They're interrupting my cartoons for ANOTHER rocket launch?

And the Nixon White House wanted Armstrong and Aldrin to stand at attention for two minutes for a performance of "The Star Spangled Banner." Frank Borman wrote a memo that killed the idea.

Remember when we had hope? I still have my dads badge as a mechanical engineer that did this working at Cape Canaveral. Donald J Trump 'talks' of space, he 'talks' of a lot of things that don't come to fruition. He doesn't speak of potential beyond what seems his own. Sad.

Beautiful, memorable. I just bumped into a jerk on FB who was filling up many comments with all the "reasons" he could "prove" that we were never REALLY on the moon. Pathetic, sad, infuriating to have this incredible accomplishment negated.

The only color on a desolate moonscape, the Stars and Stripes of the American Flag. We were so proud. Such an incredible accomplishment which only grows in its awesomeness with each passing year. Thank you for reminding me of a time when I was proud to be an American. #Apollo11

That's just stupid. The costs are lack of funding for infrastructure, research, and importantly for you, education.
