Back in the good old days where this is what our beloved country was obsessed with and loved. NASA at it's best. I miss those days sitting by the TV and waiting for the launch. I want to go back to that.

I can go outside my condo and see the launches now. Of course, the Apollo program was the peak of public interest, with science fiction becoming reality.

It was such a wonderful and exciting time in US history! I want to go back and relive that time and forget about having a traitor as a president.

The first time I told my son I was born before we had walked on the moon he laughed and laughed. I was explaining what a "splash down" was.

Magnificent. Followed this mission day and night. Has there been a more tumultuous decade in US history than the 1960s?
-
maybe the 1850s and 1860s
-
Thanks. The 1860s was what I was thinking, but I’m not an expert in US history.

Nobody really knows how big these rockets are until they stand next to one. It's a reminder of how gravity glues us to this planet.

The historic launch towers were demolished only 5 days ago to make way for commercial use by Moon Express. I saw them in 1992. I took a wrong turn on a bike trip & was stopped on the road to the launch pad. Magnificent. Why were these not saved as National Historic Landmarks?

I was four at the time and remember the launch vaguely. I do remember the landing....and had to go to bed before the First Step

I think that scared me for lifeThanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

Maybe that’s why what happened in Helsinki happened on July 16. Russia must still be pissed about Apollo 11’s success.
