My understanding is that Lincoln stood straight up and somebody, not realizing who it was, yelled, "Duck, you damn fool" or something along those lines.

Trump would have been cowering, yelling "get me out of here" while citing his five deferments. Then he'd wave the flag when he safely returned to the White House.

Lincoln remains the only POTUS to ever come under fire during wartime. Madison had been present, behind the front line, at the battlefield of Baldensburg, when the British burned D.C. in August 1814, but he did not come under fire.

A real President, about as different from the current occupant as it could be.

Lincoln. Perhaps the greatest Republican? The antithesis of the current Republican POTUS (@realDonaldTrump), certainly. The real Republicans need to fight to take THEIR party back from these raiders.
