Hard to believe she's still around, rusting away in Philadelphia waiting for either salvation or the scrapyard. A beautiful ship.
My grandfather was Chief Steward, Cabin class from maiden voyage until 1963
Here it sits. Docked in South Philly across from the Ikea for years. Several attempts to refurbish fizzled. Fun fact: retired because it was filled with asbestos.pic.twitter.com/V7SSL8syX6

When I was in 6th grade, we went on a field trip and toured the ship. It was pretty amazing. Still have the pictures. 
I had a pretty good model of it in the early 60s. (Back in the days when you actually used glue to construct a model.)
