I remember watching the Berlin Wall come down on @CNN in 1989, after Reagan's "Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall!" speech in 1987. Now there's a POTUS wanting to *build* a wall, and gullible #MAGA fools believe Dotard's claims of CNN being "fake news".

Maybe you want to Google MS-13 and see if you want to let them in your country. They come in unopposed here.
-
Boy, those folks sound terrible. So why do you want to arrest people who are running away from them?

Note how he stuck to the script. As opposed to, say, "DO NOT CONGRATULATE".

Don't know where he got the ish from.

The guttural “ch” in Ich is difficult for native English speakers and “ish” is an easy approximation. Some German dialects use it too.

And here's to another American who went to Berlin ~3 decades before JFK, reminding that presidents of the USA. were not always perfect. "History is written by the victors"~Churchill. "Hitler didn't snub me—it was our president who snubbed me. FDR didn't even send me a telegram."pic.twitter.com/JSIYW3WW4t

Someone please explain or debunk the “I am a jelly donut.”
-
Mixed: you'd just say "Ich bin Berliner", but nobody who heard the speech probably thought of donuts. (not googled, just a German Language & Literature undergrad from way back when.)
-
also, no one in berlin calls a jelly donut a berliner. it's called pfannkuchen.
-
It's basically a dumb thing they like to say in German classes in the US like that there was a vote that almost made German the official language of the country, uh, no.https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/the-german-vote/ …

well, if using this anecdote keeps this important speech in students' minds, who are we to judge, right?
that marie antoinette hoax about the cake is still being perpetuated. what's with people and sweets? -
I guess there are a lot of sugar addicts out there? I don't know myself, I only care about sugar in coffee.

It will take hundreds of years to get the future we would have had if John F.Kennedy wasn’t killed.
