His son Darrell Evers,a man of note in his own right, was one of the plaintiffs in a lawsuit that resulted in the integration of Mississippi public schools in addition to begin a very good artist...sadly died too soon of cancer at age 47..

The Evers family, like the King family, as I have read, suffered so much in their courageous fight for common decency and basic human rights...
...I feel sad to read that Darrell died so young... Thanks for sharing that info...

Heartbreaking photo. I'm betting this is how the children feel who are torn from their parents' arms after crossing our border into an unknown land...

The murder of Medgar Evers haunts me to this day. I will never forget that he was murdered in his own driveway and his wife Myrlie found him. The KKK murderer escaped justice until 1994. Medgar Evers was buried with full military honors in Arlington National Cemetery.

This man was a hero with his life taken by hatred. I can see this happening again in this Trump era.

African Americans have suffered tragedy just for wanting to vote, sit at a lunch counter, stay in a hotel, drink water from a fountain & untold injustices by lawmen and courts. Then, freedom-yet in word only to millions in recent history. Let us share this child's grief forever.

Byron De La Beckwith was charged with murder twice in 1964 after being acquitted of this murder. No blacks allowed on jurys. The Governor interrupted the second trial, to shake his hand. Do you really think the South has changed that much since 1964?

Only ~200 years after the very confusing ".. were created..." "History is written by the victors"~Churchill. Victors redefined the word EQUAL? along many other double language/standards?

And this is a country that preaches "human rights" to the rest of the world. Shame, shame.
