Not so much in 1940s. Remember when THOUSANDS died in the first hours of #DDAY? OR those who died fighting nazis in WWII? The @realDonaldTrump ambassador to Germany doesn't.

One thing I've always wondered: since the Allies had success on the other four beaches, if Omaha had failed wouldn't the troops from Sword, Juno, Utah and Gold have attacked the Germans at Omaha from behind?

btw, this is not in any way to detract from the heroism of those soldiers, who more than earned the name Greatest Generation.

Young lives. 17-19 yrs old. My Mother’s cousin was a 18 casualty. Machine gun sprayed his amphibious vehicle as they opened the door. He never got to fire a shot. 😢🇺🇸 War is the most insane of concepts to settle a dispute. It’s inhuman. But very human. 😭

Sometimes, it's a necessity to eradicate evil actors and entities (Nazis and fascist regimes). Germany, Italy and Japan became better and humanity was advanced.
